TONLE SAP GREAT LAKE

Hi every Bodies,,, Great to see all of you in Cambodia,

This time i would like to introduce all of you about Cambodia Great Tole Sap Lake,,,

Tonle Sap Lake located South of Angkor wat famous world heritage site, 12 km from Siem Reap town,  Take around 30 minutes to reach there.

Tonle Sap is the Great lake and it is the biggest one in South East Asia and

haul(Fish catches) is the number one in the world,

its dimension changes depending on the monsoon and dry season. so during the dry season, November to May, Tonle Sap Lake water flows out to the Mekong river, its size is 3000 kilometer square, 1.5 meter in depth,

During rainy season June to October,the water flows from from Mekong River to fill up to the Tonle sap lake, so its size is 12000 kilometer square and 11 meter in depth,the water flowing  in and out,

is the natural phenomenon occurrences. The flooded forest surrounding the edge of the

lake is the best shelter and also very important for all kinds of fishes spawned and breeding babies.

This lake providing many of bio-diversities, over 300 species of fresh water fishes,like- snakes,

crocodiles, tortoises, turtles and otters. More than 100 varieties water birds including storks, pelicans, etc

The Lake is also an important commercial resource, providing more than half of the fish consumed in Cambodia.

there are 5 provinces that connecting to Tonle Sap Lake, Siem Reap ,Battambang, Posat, Kompong Chhnag

and Kompong Thom Province.

on the Bank surrounding of Tonle Sap Lake there are around 4 million people living, all of them almost earn a living by catching fish and making agriculture.

After all of you visit Siem Reap Angkor wat World heritage site , If  you like you can travel from  to Capital City Phnom Penh or Battambang Province by Tonle Sap with Speed Boat , Departure every Morning .
